UBS Wealth Management Names Regional Head In Canada

UBS Wealth Management Canada has appointed Beat Meier as regional head for Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, a Calgary-based role. Mr Meier was most recently a senior private wealth advisor and a member of the UBS KeyClient Group in Canada, a unit serving those with over C$30 million in investable assets. Prior to this, in 2005, he opened the Calgary office of UBS Wealth Management. Mr Meier joined UBS in Switzerland in 1992, holding a variety of positions in Zurich prior to joining UBS Wealth Management Canada in Vancouver in 2003. "Beat's deep roots with UBS and international banking knowledge has given him the depth of experience needed to assist Canadians in the fastest growing wealth communities in Canada," said Grant Rasmussen, president and chief executive, UBS Bank . In October UBS Wealth Management Canada promoted Wolfgang Harder as head of the British Columbia region. Prior to his appointment Mr Harder was a senior private wealth advisor and founding member of the UBS Key Client group in Canada.
